SACRE – The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education
Tower Hamlets has a thriving Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education – or SACRE. It meets three times a year and includes representatives of religions and beliefs, teachers and headteachers and the local authority.
Among other roles, SACRE agrees and monitors the syllabus for Religious Education. This syllabus demonstrates a strong commitment to the teaching of religions and beliefs and includes information and guidance for schools.
