| Tower Hamlets has a small but busy Jain community. There are around 12 million Jains in India, where the faith began. Around 25,000 Jains live in the UK, making it the 7th biggest faith in the country. Most Jains (or their families) originally came from India. Others arrived from East Africa in the 1960s and 1970s. Respect for all living things and no violence is at the heart of their faith. |
