Hinduism

Hinduism is thought to be the world’s oldest religion.  It began in India around 3,000 years ago.  It is the 4th most popular religion in Britain.
There are more than 400,000 people who follow this faith in this country, and around 1,500 Hindus live in Tower Hamlets.  Many Hindus have come to live in Britain from India, Africa, the Pacific Island or the Caribbean, and they have had families here.
Although the Hindu community in Tower Hamlets is quite small they contribute a lot to the borough, for example many work as health professionals in Tower Hamlets.
