Third-party reporting sites provide an initial point of contact for victims of all hate crime. Trained staff will be on hand to enable victims to report crime without having to speak directly to a police officer or visit a police station. Information taken down will then be passed to the police and/or relevant organisations such as Victim Support and the local authority housing department with the permission of the victim within 24 hours. Police will log details of the crime and investigate accordingly. Victims can also report a crime anonymously.
