Interfaith Week, 17th-23rd November 2008 The launch event which will be good for the soul and the stomach! The free ‘Celebrating food and hospitality’ event will kick off a week of local celebrations and launch the Faith in Tower Hamlets photography competition. All local residents are invited to come along to Lifra Hall at 7 Halley Street, Stepney, E14 7SS (Google map) on Tuesday 18th November from 6.00pm. Chair of the Tower Hamlets Interfaith Forum, Reverend Alan Green, said: “Inter Faith Week is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the many faith groups living together in Tower Hamlets, and to acknowledge the contributions they make to the life of the whole community.” “The ‘Faith in Daily Life’ photography competition will be a chance to explore what faith means for our residents. The pictures taken will be used in the Council’s new Religion and Belief Equality Scheme, due to be published in April 2009.” At the event there will be a chance to sample foods prepared and eaten by different faith communities.
