Tower Hamlets Council Gender Equality Scheme Consultation 18.09.10

Tower Hamlets Council has been in the process of revising its Gender Equality Scheme for the next three years, which is aimed at eliminating unlawful discrimination and harassment and promoting equality of opportunity between men and women in the borough. This is part of the Council's commitment to valuing diversity and equality as a whole and compliments the number of other Schemes and strategies we have in place to address the six equality strands.
At the moment we are in the consultation and scoping phase.

You will find attached two documents - one is a summary outlineWord doc opens in new window of where we are with the Tower Hamlets Gender Equality Scheme, and the second is a questionnaire for you to fill outWord doc opens in new window so we can capture your thoughts on it, as well as gender specific issues within the borough generally.

I would be grateful if you could have a look and fill out the questionnaire by Wednesday 18th August 2010 and return it to me as directed. Please also feel free to pass this onto any others that would benefit from this or would like to provide input.

Apologies for the short timescale, but I hope you will be able to contribute your thoughts and comments.

Contact Shahanaz Begum (LBTH's Diversity and Equalities Coordinator) for more information or call 020 7364 6848.
