2011 Census Jobs October 2010–January 2011
Staff recruitment for the following roles: Census Coordinator, Special Enumerator, Census Collector
The Census is completed every 10 years, and this data is used in the allocation of public funds to ensure the correct services, like schools, hospitals and emergency services are provided for all residents now and in the future.
Census day is 27th March 2011, and the recruitment of part time roles starts has started. Working within the local community, census recruits will engage with a wide range of people and organisations. They will provide important help and support to make sure everyone in the area can complete and return their census questionnaire.
Available roles include; census coordinators, who will help to manage local teams; census collectors, who will provide help and support on the doorstep; and special enumerators, who will be responsible for communal establishments including care homes, hotels and student halls of residence. We are keen to ensure that local residents apply for these positions, and to this end request your assistance with advertising these roles with your organisation.
Advertising leaflets for notice boards and postcards are available, please call me, Lesley Carpenter (Tower Hamlets North: 07801 331 439) or Ian Barclay (Tower Hamlets South: 07801 331441) More details can be found on the Census jobs website: www.censusjobs.co.uk .
We are encouraging all organisations and businesses in Tower Hamlets to link to the Census Website to spread the Census message. For information on how to link your organisation to the Census website, click here .
This is an opportunity to involve Tower Hamlets residents in a historical event that will shape their futures and those of their family, friends and community.
